great base for exploring amherst and nearby parks
During our stay for an anniversary celebration, we loved how close the inn was to beautiful parks, like Mill River Recreation Area just a short walk away, and we enjoyed delightful breakfasts, especially the amazing homemade popovers on Sunday, which made our mornings extra special.

The Black Walnut Inn boasts charming antique decor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, and features accessibility options that made moving around more convenient for me as a senior. It truly felt like a home away from home.
More soundproofing from street noise would be appreciated.

I had an amazing time enjoying the delicious breakfast with homemade blueberry muffins, and Marie even shared a piece of her incredible pumpkin pie with me. The outdoor garden is a lovely spot to unwind, and the sun terrace is perfect for soaking in the views. Just a heads up, the Wi-Fi was a bit slow at times, but honestly, that didn’t put a damper on my stay at all! 😊

Our family enjoyed a delightful weekend here. The owners treated us like family! Their homemade breakfasts were the highlight, with custom orders each morning. Be sure to explore nearby local eateries for lunch, the options are fantastic! Pack earplugs if you're sensitive to road noise.

The homemade popovers were the highlight of our stay! The room was cozy and clean. Breakfast was delicious too, but the street noise got a bit bothersome at night. Overall, a lovely experience! 😊
